How the ratings break down

Amazon's own star distribution for this product, read on 2026-10-28. We show the one-star share too, because an average alone hides it.

5 star 82%
4 star 10%
3 star 4%
2 star 1%
1 star 3%

4% of these ratings are one or two stars. That is about typical for the Medicube range, where the median is 6%.

We cannot tell you what those reviewers said. Amazon.com now requires an account to open the full review list, so the critical reviews are not readable from a public page. We would rather say that than guess.

What is azelaic acid?

Azelaic acid is a gentle active that helps with uneven tone, redness and blemish-prone skin.

What the ingredient order actually tells you

  • The cleansing base is the gentle kind. Sodium cocoyl glycinate sits third and sodium lauroyl glutamate fourth, both amino acid surfactants, with a sultaine and two glucosides behind them. There is no sulfate surfactant on this list.
  • The azelaic acid in the name is declared on the manufacturer's own list: Azelaic Acid (31 ppm) at 35th of 54. 31 ppm is 0.0031%, in a cleanser rinsed off within a minute. Leave-on azelaic acid products typically contain 10% to 20%.
  • The more active entries sit higher than the namesake: salicylic acid 17th and tea tree leaf oil 18th, then gluconolactone 28th and glycolic acid 30th. For a rinse-off these are mild positions, but tea tree at 18th brings a real scent and is a known irritant for some.
  • Five ceramide entries and five hyaluronic entries sit between 33rd and 46th, which fits the 'non-stripping' claim in spirit, though in a cleanser they leave with the rinse.
Our read

A mild amino acid foam with a light salicylic and tea tree edge, sold on an azelaic acid story its own list puts at 31 ppm. Buy it as a gentle daily cleanser for oily or congested skin and it fits the job. Do not buy it as your azelaic acid step: the declared dose and the rinse-off format both rule that out.

Who should skip this

  • You want azelaic acid for redness or marks. The list declares 31 ppm, and leave-on products work at thousands of times that.
  • Tea tree oil irritates your skin. It sits 18th, above the azelaic acid.
  • You need a cleanser that is unscented in practice. There is no fragrance entry, but tea tree leaf oil carries a strong scent.

A note on how we read that list. Ingredient lists run in descending order of concentration, but only for ingredients above 1%. Below that, the order is up to the manufacturer, so a low position tells you something is present at a low level, not exactly how much. We do not guess at percentages. FDA labeling guide.
