What the ingredient order actually tells you

• Palmitic acid third, stearic fourth and lauric fifth: fatty acids at the top of a foaming cleanser signal a saponified, soap-style wash. That is where the dense lather and the squeaky finish come from.
• Salicylic acid sits 15th of 23, and in a wash-off with seconds on skin that is a footnote, not the mechanism. The degreasing is the soap base doing what soap bases do.
