Overview

Medicube markets this on salmon DNA PDRN, and you use it as your daily moisturizer. With a solid 3.9 out of 5 from 1k ratings, it is generally well received. It uses active ingredients, so patch test first and introduce it slowly if your skin is reactive.

The summary above follows how Medicube markets this product. We also read the published ingredient list line by line, and it tells a different story: what the ingredient order actually says.

Pros

  • Marketed around salmon DNA PDRN, a genuinely on-trend active
  • Lightweight texture that layers cleanly under other products

Cons

  • Contains actives that can irritate reactive skin, so patch test first
  • Priced above the cheapest options in the range
  • Reviews are more mixed than the range best-sellers

What buyers actually say

We read a sample of the Amazon reviews for this product and describe the pattern in our own words. It is a sample, not a survey of all 4,100 ratings, and we do not reproduce customer reviews.

This is the most divided product in our set, and the sample reflects that. Enthusiasts describe a fast plumping effect, particularly under the eyes and along fine lines, and value the stick format for touch-ups. Several stress that expectations set by social media are the real problem, not the balm. The dissent is consistent: the finish is oily, so wearing it over makeup does not work for everyone, results fade before the next application, and one reviewer with sensitive skin blamed it for clogged pores. A one-star reviewer tested it on one side of the face and reported only added shine.

Praised for

  • Quick plumping look under the eyes
  • Portable stick format for touch-ups
  • Hydrating and easy to glide on
  • Low price relative to cosmetic alternatives

Criticized for

  • Oily finish that can disturb makeup
  • Effect fades before the next application
  • Blamed for clogged pores by one reviewer
  • One reviewer saw no change beyond shine

How the ratings break down

Amazon's own star distribution for this product, read on 2026-10-01. We show the one-star share too, because an average alone hides it.

5 star 58%
4 star 10%
3 star 12%
2 star 6%
1 star 14%

20% of these ratings are one or two stars. That is well above the 6% median for the Medicube range. This is one of the more divisive products in the catalogue: most people like it, but a meaningful minority does not, and the average hides that.

We cannot tell you what those reviewers said. Amazon.com now requires an account to open the full review list, so the critical reviews are not readable from a public page. We would rather say that than guess.

What is salmon DNA PDRN?

PDRN (polydeoxyribonucleotide) is a soothing, skin-conditioning ingredient derived from salmon DNA, used to support the barrier and give a plumper, glowier look.

Water, Caffeine, Collagen, Hippophae Rhamnoides Oil, Sodium Hyaluronate, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Propanediol, Glycerin, Retinol, Polyglyceryl-10 Oleate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Nicotinamide Mononucleotide, Adenosine Triphosphate, Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide, Alkanna Tinctoria Root Extract, Lecithin, Sodium Phosphate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Hydrolyzed Elastin, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Copper Tripeptide-1, Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4, Acetyl Tetrapeptide-5, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1, sh-Oligopeptide-1, sh-Oligopeptide-2, sh-Polypeptide-1, sh-Polypeptide-10, sh-Polypeptide-11, sh-Polypeptide-3, sh-Polypeptide-59, sh-Polypeptide-9

What the ingredient order actually tells you

  • For once the top of the list matches the top of the label. Caffeine sits second and collagen third of 33, with sodium hyaluronate fifth, behind only water.
  • The PDRN the name leads with is not on the list. There is no salmon DNA entry among the 33. What occupies that role instead is the NAD family: nicotinamide mononucleotide 12th, adenosine triphosphate 13th and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide 14th. Related energy chemistry, a different molecule, and the name does not tell you that.
  • Retinol sits ninth, which is worth knowing for a stick sold for under-eye and neck use. Sea buckthorn oil at fourth gives the balm its slip.
  • Fourteen peptide entries run from 20th to 33rd, so the peptide language on the packaging describes the bottom half of the formula rather than the working part of it.
  • No fragrance entry appears, which matters more than usual for something you press directly onto skin and reapply through the day.
Our read

Honestly ordered at the top and misnamed at the front: caffeine second, collagen third, no fragrance, and no PDRN anywhere despite the range it is sold in. Judge it as a caffeine and collagen balm with an NAD and peptide tail, in a format that is genuinely convenient, and it holds up. Judge it as a PDRN product and the list does not back you.

Who should skip this

  • You are buying it for the PDRN. There is no salmon DNA entry on this list.
  • Retinol is a problem for your skin. It sits ninth in a stick people press around the eyes.
  • You want the peptide complex to be the treatment. All fourteen entries sit 20th or lower.
  • You need a full moisturizer. A balm stick is a targeted, spot-application format by design.

A note on how we read that list. Ingredient lists run in descending order of concentration, but only for ingredients above 1%. Below that, the order is up to the manufacturer, so a low position tells you something is present at a low level, not exactly how much. We do not guess at percentages. FDA labeling guide.
