How the ratings break down

Amazon's own star distribution for this product, read on 2026-10-28. We show the one-star share too, because an average alone hides it.

5 star 68%
4 star 10%
3 star 11%
2 star 3%
1 star 8%

11% of these ratings are one or two stars. That is well above the 6% median for the Medicube range. This is one of the more divisive products in the catalogue: most people like it, but a meaningful minority does not, and the average hides that.

We cannot tell you what those reviewers said. Amazon.com now requires an account to open the full review list, so the critical reviews are not readable from a public page. We would rather say that than guess.

What is succinic acid?

Succinic acid is a gentle exfoliating and clarifying active often used for blemish-prone skin.

What the ingredient order actually tells you

  • The acid story is real and it starts at the top: lactic acid sits second, gluconolactone fourth and citric acid sixth, all three in the top six. Positions like these are consistent with the listing's large combined acid figure, though no list can confirm the exact 32%.
  • Sodium hydroxide at seventh is the counterweight: it neutralizes part of that acid. How strong the spray feels depends on the final pH, which the listing does not state, so 32% acids is not the same thing as a 32% peel.
  • The other letters on the front sit lower: salicylic acid (the BHA) 14th, succinic acid 18th, glycolic acid 30th and capryloyl salicylic acid (the LHA) 32nd. Alcohol at third speeds drying on the skin.
  • Four scent-bearing oils sit in the middle: peppermint 17th, rosemary 20th, lavandin 22nd and a juniper oil 26th. On a rinse-off that stays on for a minute this matters less than in a lotion, but they still land on freshly exfoliated skin.
Our read

A genuinely acid-led body spray: lactic acid second, a PHA fourth and citric acid sixth, partly neutralized by sodium hydroxide at seventh. Used as directed, a minute on and rinsed, it is a reasonable way to deal with rough patches on the back and arms. Keep it off broken or freshly shaved skin, and do not stack it with other acid products on the same day.

Who should skip this

  • Your body skin is sensitive or eczema-prone. Lactic acid sits second and alcohol third.
  • You want a leave-on exfoliant. This is designed to be rinsed after a minute, which limits how much the acids can do.
  • You were sold on the LHA. Capryloyl salicylic acid sits 32nd of 44.

A note on how we read that list. Ingredient lists run in descending order of concentration, but only for ingredients above 1%. Below that, the order is up to the manufacturer, so a low position tells you something is present at a low level, not exactly how much. We do not guess at percentages. FDA labeling guide.

Is the medicube Red Body Peeling Shot - AHA worth it?

It is a solid option rated 4.2 out of 5. Worth it if its job matches your main concern, though it is not the single most-loved product in the range.
